I noticed this on www.flashmagazine.com this morning. The folks at Flashloaded have created a 3D image browser component for Flash. The component uses Papervision 3D and allows you to create these very cool, very dizzying walls of images that can be spun around, zoomed, tilted, etc. Just remember to take your Dramamine before you use it.

I love the way it works and it’s one of those things that you immediately want to take apart and figure out how it’s done. But as a user - someone just browsing some photos - I don’t know if I like it, in fact I might hate it. Flash still (understandably) has problems with animating bitmaps, and the “coming into focus” aspect of this I find distracting. But you be the judge. Here’s a link to an example.
